What is ASOS Marketplace?
Global online fashion giant ASOS launched ASOS Marketplace in 2010, providing an excellent online space for aspiring fashion designers, independent brands and vintage collectors to sell their goods.
A highly-coveted selling platform, ASOS Marketplace offers many benefits to sellers. Not only can you take advantage of ASOS's fashion-forward global audience, you will also be assigned a personal account manager who'll be on hand to help you achieve success and answer any queries.
Of course, you also stand a chance of being promoted by ASOS themselves. A fantastic opportunity to expand your online audience, ASOS often feature Marketplace boutiques on their social media channels and in their regular newsletters.
How to sell on ASOS Marketplace
What can I sell?
A place for fashion-lovers, there are restrictions on what can and cannot be sold on ASOS Marketplace. The company currently accept vintage clothing, new or pre-owned items from other brands and original designs from the seller.
The following cannot be sold on ASOS Marketplace:
- Exotic or wild-caught animal skin
- Counterfeit goods
Before applying, you should make sure you will be able to provide enough stock to meet ASOS Marketplace's guidelines. Those selling vintage must have a minimum of 20 different styles at all times, while indie and multi-brand boutiques must stock a minimum of 10 styles.
How much does it cost?
Selling on ASOS costs £20 a month, no matter how many items you list, with a 10% discount offered to all NUS Extra card holders. ASOS will also take 20% commission from each sale.
Getting started on ASOS Marketplace
Setting up a boutique on ASOS Marketplace is simple, but not instant. All prospective sellers must be approved by the team at ASOS first, which can take up to three working days.
Create an ASOS Marketplace account: To apply for a boutique, you will need to set up on ASOS Marketplace account. Visit the ASOS Marketplace homepage, and click Sign Up in the top right corner.

Complete the application form: The form will ask for basic details about yourself and your products, and for social media links.
You will also need to provide a short description of your boutique and at least four product photos. Make sure your images meet ASOS Marketplace's photography standards, as it's likely to boost your chances of being successful.
If you've chosen PayPal, make sure you're verified. To do this, users must link a secondary payment source, like a bank account or credit card, to their account.
If you've chosen Stripe, head to 'Account Settings' and make sure 'Decline charges that fail CVC verification' is ticked.
List your products: With your details sorted, it's finally time to list your products in your boutique. Up to five images can be used per item, and you will need to select a main 'hero' image to feature on product feeds across ASOS Marketplace. Add an informative title, a short description and the available sizes, then decide on a competitive price.
Customise your boutique: Attract your customers and help your brand grow online by customising your boutique. You can add a store banner, a description and a brand logo to your storefront, alongside links to your blog, social media channels and an email address. There's also an option to create a 'We love...' section above your product feed, where you can select your favourite products and feature them first for customers to see.
In order to continue to sell on ASOS Marketplace, you need to deliver fantastic customer service. Customers are able to provide feedback on their items, and each boutique is expected to have a rating of 90% or above to continue selling.
As the seller, you must ensure the following:
100% of stock featured online must be ready to ship out to customers within two working days
Most items must be shipped within 2 working days, with the exception of made to order and custom-made items
Queries should be answered within one working day
Refunds and exchanges must be issued in two working days

How to track an order
When an order is placed, you will be able to view them on your dashboard. Once you have packaged each order and shipped the item, don't forget to mark it as 'shipped' - this means orders can no longer be cancelled by the customer.
You should receive a tracking code from the provider you have shipped your goods with. If you use CollectPlus delivered by Yodel for example, you simply need to enter the code online and we will provide you with information about its current location.
